Fringed Tulip

The first fringed tulip variety was registered in the Netherlands in 1930 under the name "Sandju," which translated into Russian means "drosera" (the name of a predatory plant that uses the cilia of its leaves to capture insects). Insects that enter a flower cannot crawl out from the edge until the sun hits it and the petals open slightly. Today, there are many varieties of fringed tulips.

Tulip Canasta (Tassel Tulip 'Canasta') – late-flowering variety. The flowers are carmine red with a white border and white needle-like tassels. It is small in size, has an elegant cup shape, and is well preserved in bright sunlight. The glass has a height and diameter of approximately 5 cm and is a reliable variety. The peduncle is thick, dense and straight. Versatile forcing and cutting varieties. Plant height 35-45 cm, flowering period - mid to late May.

They are able to surprise everyone who sees them for the first time and satisfy any taste. They differ from other species in that the petals have edges that resemble small needles, ice crystals, or frost. The edges of varieties with brightly colored flowers are especially expressive.
