About this item
- LIGHT: Avoid southeast-facing windows that receive direct sun as that will likely cause leaf burn. Find a place in your home that receives indirect sunlight for part of the day.
- SOIL: Well-draining moist potting mix is best. African Violet potting soil cut with perlite and orchid bark.
- TALL: Grows up to 12-20 ft. tall.
- BLOOM PERIOD: Hoya carnosa blooms from spring to late summer.
WHEN TO PLANT: You can sow Hoya seeds at any time of the year. However, Hoyas like warm weather. As a result, the best time to propagate Hoya seeds is from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn.
HOYA CARE:
Sunlight:
Keep in bright filtered, indirect sun indoors, porch patio, or under a big tree. Early morning sun is okay until 10am then must be under shade to prevent burning of leaves.
Water:
Hoyas are succulent-like so they don’t want to be overly wet for long periods . I let the top few inches become dry before watering again .
